Cooking in Schools

We help schools meet the National Curriculum requirement to teach Cookery to children!

The Kitchen Club is an initiative that delivers cooking to primary schools as a one-stop solution; with all the ingredients, equipment and experience necessary. We provide planning and structured lessons. We have lots of fun with schools creating themed events, as part of their topics such as Tudor Feasts, South American lunches, Indian banquets and Chinese dinners. We also offer after school clubs and holiday cooking workshops.

Currently, we are cooking at Fairford Primary, Ashton Keynes, Ampney Crucis, Bibury, Southrop, North Cerney Primary schools and Meadowpark School in Cricklade.

We run:

  • Small group sessions– Weekly class lessons of 8 children per session; often times to accompany Term Topics

  • Whole school cooking days – Any theme from Roman cooking to French Cuisine cooking

  • Whole school topic related banquets – Hold your own Tudor Banquet or Harvest Feast!

  • Fund raising cooking initiatives – children can cook ‘Family Meals for 4’ and auction it off to raise funds

  • Cooking three course lunches for special guests– ‘Yr 6 Leavers Lunch’ for teachers, parents and School Govenors

  • Support with setting up and initiating school kitchen gardens– securing donations of vegetable seedlings from garden centres

  • We also offer After School Clubs and holiday cooking workshops- which can be held at your school too!

We teach children how to cook to feed themselves well for life!
